2 Chronicles reminds us: “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and forgive their sin and heal their land’. We are called to pray fervently for the sake of our communities, nation, and world.
Our founding fathers knew we could not form a more perfect union in the absence of God. So, they formed our nation under God and in God’s Trust. They understood that the way to cover our nation with protection was through God made flesh, through Jesus Christ and to rely on God made present, through the Holy Spirit. During this time of extraordinary events worldwide, let us pray our Governmental Leaders will see this as a time to bring our country back into favor with our Lord, God.
Please pray for our police, fire, and public health officials. For all the personnel that keep our government running. That their efforts to protect our streets and communities, who come to the aid of those in need, will be covered with God’s grace and healing touch.
Let us pray for our government leaders, elected and appointed that they will seek God in their decision-making for the safety and wellbeing of the people they serve. That they will embrace a spirit of servant leadership and look to Jesus Christ as the model to follow.
1 Timothy Chapter 2 says: “First of all, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for everyone, for kings and all those who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. This is good, and it pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to come to knowledge of the truth.”
Please pray over our medical leaders, doctors, nurses, and first responders who are on the front lines of battling injuries, diseases, and sicknesses. That they be a reminder to our government of the fortitude of the American spirit. Let the examples of faith, hope, and sacrifice resonate with our public officials so they set aside pride, power, and greed.
Extend prayers over our local leaders of our cities, counties, and state and all the districts that provide infrastructure, schools, and public facilities. Pray over our Nation and Government leaders in Washington, our President Joe Biden, Vice President and Congressional members that they will turn to you, Lord, and seek your face, and rely on prayer before deliberating on any public matters. Give thanks to all our government officials and personnel who openly express their faith in God and rely on Jesus Christ as their Savior and guide.
Lord we ask you to look over our communities on the Central Coast. That our prayers to bring Glory to God and spread unity throughout the Santa Maria Valley will echo loudly and blanket our neighborhoods, communities, nation, and world. In Jesus’ name. Amen
